The nature of the Living Consciously retreats includes up to 4 1/2 hrs of karma yoga, the yoga of mindful action and participation in the everyday activities of the ashram routine with the community residents.
Shaun O’Neill, 2007
"I have just returned home after spending the last seven days at Rocklyn and I feel like a new person. I have had an interest in yoga for some time and attend weekly classes in the city but nothing could have prepared me for the comprehensive physical spiritual and emotional realignment that I have just experienced.
This was the simple weeklong Living Consciously course at Rocklyn.
To arrive with an open heart and an open mind is all that is required. Immersion in the ashram lifestyle will do the rest. The daily timetable may seem strict yet somehow I found the structure surprisingly liberating.
The bush setting is idyllic, the work is satisfying, the food exceptional.
Although the daily yoga posture sessions are finished before breakfast, the morning chanting, group Living Consciously classes, midday yoga nidra relaxation, afternoon review and meditation and evening sessions all provide a veritable armory of tools that will enhance the union of body, mind and spirit. I now feel more alive and prepared to manage my busy life, work and relationships than I have for as long as I can remember.
To regain a sense of balance that you didn’t realise was still within you is a joyous thing. It brought to my mind the old Bob Marley song “Wake up and live!”"
